Azerbaijan participates in the tourism meetings of the Organization of Turkic States

On September 25, a delegation from the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan participated in the 9th Meeting of Tourism Ministers and the 19th Meeting of the Working Group on Tourism of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Jalal-Abad, Kyrgyzstan.

During the meetings, extensive information was provided about the Ski Resorts Union, an initiative launched by Azerbaijan. Currently, the union includes four member countries - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan—and other OTS countries were invited to join.

Additionally, the agenda for tourism-related events planned under the OTS framework for the upcoming year was discussed. Azerbaijan expressed interest in participating in the B2B Tourism Forum, which will bring together tourism companies and airlines from member states.

Speaking at the 9th Meeting of Tourism Ministers, Kenan Guluzade, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency informed participants that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in November. He highlighted that, for the first time, the thematic program of COP29 will include tourism, with November 20 officially designated as "Tourism Day".

Tourism ministers from OTS member states were invited to take part in the "1st High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Enhanced Climate Action in Tourism," which will be held as part of the Tourism Day program.
